I recently went out with my friend, Amy, for dinner and to see Something Borrowed. Finally! I’ve been DYING to see this movie.
But first to dinner! Several months ago, we tried to go to Avivo for book club, but there ended up being a fundraiser that night.
The decor of the restaurant is really nice. Love the big brick oven that you can see.
Amy got the Garden Deluxe Pizza.
I got the Pizza di Avivo.
Eh…Amy did like hers. I wasn’t too thrilled with mine. The Italian sausage on mine…seriously tasted like the “meatballs” in SpaghettiO’s. It was not the quality that I expected.
You may have better luck trying a panini instead. If I did go back, I’d probably just go for drinks and maybe an appetizer.
On to the movie! It’s always a little risky when you see a movie based on a book that you loved. I thought the movie was true to the book and I really really liked it!! I recommend it.
Even more than the movie, I recommend that you read Emily Giffin’s Something Borrowed. If you love chick lit, you’ll LOVE this book. Go ahead and just buy Something Blue while you’re at it because you’re going to want to read it as soon as you’re done witt Something Borrowed. I’m going all out and declaring these two books my FAVORITE chick lit books. Now you know I’m serious! 🙂
I’ve also read Emily Giffin’s Baby Proof and Heart of the Matter. I wasn’t too fond of Baby Proof. Heart of the Matter was good. It was interesting in that one of the female leads was Dex’s sister from Something Borrowed. So, I did enjoy that she pulls in characters from past books. I definitely look forward to more books from Emily Giffin. I just hope she didn’t peak too early with Something Borrowed and Something Blue.
I finished the book and loved it! I also went to the movie and was surprised to see how much the same they were! I am on reserve for Something Blue…can’t wait!
I hope you love “Something Blue” too! Can’t wait to see you guys this weekend!!
After the movie, LB asked me what happened in the book. I felt sad that I couldn’t remember. I said something like, “Someone has a baby…I’m pretty sure.”
It was kind of a “derrrrrrrrrrr” moment.
