I’ve had this recipe sitting in my email for awhile waiting for me to make it. When I was at the Farmers’ Market recently, I was able to buy some local German style sausage too. Score! It was meant to be!
I haven’t posted the recipe because, well the picture stinks! I get the best light in my apartment between 9-11 am. I’m not cooking pasta at 9 am. That’s weird.
So, I heated up some leftovers and did re-take the picture the next morning though. And the pictures still were blah. But at least I had pasta for breakfast to drown my sorrows in!
Pasta with Sausage and Cheese
Recipe from Saveur
2 tbl extra virgin olive oil
1/2 lb sausages, cut into 1/2″ pieces. I used German style, but Italian works too.
8 ounces pasta. I used organic Rigatoni, but penne would be great as well.
1/2 cup white white
1/2 ounce blue cheese crumbles
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup loosely packed oregano leaves
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
black pepper, to taste
–cream cheese to thicken if needed/wanted
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausages and cook until browned for about 7 minutes. Stir occasionally.
