I have sweets coming out of my ears here. So, of course, I’m craving salty food.
Do you think Jimmy John’s would just deliver me a single bag of Jalapeno chips and a medium Diet Coke? No? Oh well.
I recently made these M&M cookies.
Classic! The recipe said The Best M&M Cookies! I’m instantly drawn to a recipe if it’s the BEST. Maybe I should say that I have the best food blog ever, ha. Perhaps I’d get more readers that way. 😉
M&M Cookies
Recipe from Diethood
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup Crisco–yep, I bake with vegetable shortening now.
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup M&M’s
Preheat oven to 350. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Set it aside.
Using your mixer, cream together sugars, Crisco, eggs, and vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet. Blend together.
Fold in the M&M’s.
Use a cookie scoop to place rounded balls of dough on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 9-11 minutes.
The verdict: they were yummy, but not the BEST ever. Although, it could have been the baker’s fault. 😉 In the end, I’d just go with a cup of butter next time instead of the Crisco.
Maybe I should make 2 batches. One with Crisco and one with butter to compare and contrast. Nah, I’m too busy eating Jalapeno chips.
