My March trip to Austin via pictures.
The view during dinner at the River Pub in San Marcos, TX.
The crazy good Prince cocktail at Feast restaurant in San Antonio. Gin & tonic, sweet & serrano peppers, & cilantro.
What a creepy beer bottle label!!! Dinner at The Monterey in San Antonio.
My aunt & uncle had the inside track on a hole-in-the-wall burger joint inside the Buda Grocery & Grill. The food was great! The service was another story.
After Lunch in Buda, we did some shopping along Main Street. I’m still in love with this ring that I got at Buda’s Red Door.
My Dad asked me if I was going to get a pair of cowboy boots now that I live in Texas. Maybe I will!
We also went to Gruene, TX for some shopping and wine tasting. I got a bottle of Blueberry Shiraz and Seville Orange Sangria from the Winery on the Gruene.
I was amazed by these HUGE wind chimes in Gruene too.
Happy Saturday! I hope your day is filled with blue skies!!
Hello from Austin, TX!
As I recently shared, I moved from Wichita, KS to Austin, TX. I’ve been an Austinite for 2 weeks now!!
I’ve already been to 8 different bars/restaurants. That’s not too shabby, eh?!
Most of my last 2 weeks has been spent unpacking, organizing, and decorating. I’m 100% unpacked and settled in and wanted to share a few pictures of my new apartment. If you already follow me on Instagram, these may be repeats for you.
Loving the wood floors & stainless steel appliances!! It’s a definite upgrade from my last place.
I really went with the “fresh start” mentality with this move to Austin. I bought a new dining room table/chairs, new entertainment center, new couch/chair/chair + ottoman/end tables/lamps/coffee table. :) I hadn’t gotten new furniture in 10 years, so it was time!
My end tables hadn’t arrived yet when I took this picture. Hence the lamp on the floor.
I LOVE this ottoman! I’m blogging from it right now.
My office nook is my favorite part of my apartment. I’ve never had built in book shelves before. The books displayed are the books I HAVEN’T read. All the ones I’ve read are stored in my closet.
I found the 2 pictures on the wall of salsa dancers in my Mom’s closet right before I moved. She’s a Spanish teacher, but hasn’t displayed the pictures in years. They just make me smile when I look at them!
And just for fun, a look into my newly stocked fridge. It’s daunting…and expensive…when you move and have to buy new condiments and everything!
Some cute wall art that I got from some antique stores in Wimberley & Gruene, TX.
And finally the couch & tables arrived on Tues! Now I’m on a quest to find something to put on the coffee table. Candles?? Or is that too played out?? Anyone have any ideas for me?
Last year, I…er…I mean, the Easter Bunny hid eggs in my parents’ backyard for my nephews to find. I hid them about 30 minutes or so before my nephews arrived. And it was pretty warm out that day.
Do you see where this is going?
Melted chocolate in the Easter eggs! Oops!! The Easter Bunny really screwed up on that one.
I got my act together more with these cupcakes though.
